Walking North, Sarclet
Walking North, Sarclet
The Haven is a lovely bay east of Thrumster at Sarclet. It has amazing rock platforms and walks in either direction as part of the John O Groats trial. The cliffs on the Eastern edge of Caithness are dramatic, with many inlets and promontories. This coastline was key to the success of the herring fishing in years gone by, each little inlet often used to bring boats into to offload their catch. The Haven at Sarclet was one such place and aptly named. The coast north of that marked by formidable but spectacular cliffs, jutting out into The North Sea one after another. Sunday walks with my husband and dogs have resulted in this picture.
