The Process

• Once you make contact, a size and price for the commission will discussed by email and agreed.

• All commissions will be priced similarly to the work shown in my shop by size/ price. This is with the exception of a special site visit which initials additional costs to me. In this case there will be an additional fee as required.

• For UK customers prices will include shipping for overseas customers expect an additional cost of 25% to cover shipping and currency fees. There can be an option of sending work unframed which would need to be confirmed prior to pricing given.

• Sketches will be made and sent for approval, either from photographs supplied by you or if possible from a visit to the actual location . All sketches are black and white so that the design can be seen clearly . If there are to be any special details they should be brought to my attention before the sketches are done ,where possible, so that they can be discussed and if suitable incorporated in the design.

• Hopefully at this point a design will be agreed upon and a timescale set. Please note my work can take a while to complete especially if research into the design is required. Therefore ideally 2 months should be given for any required work.

• Although the work may be of a special place to you, it must be remembered that you are buying a piece of my work that I will be putting my name to. If I feel that I would struggle to make something under the guidelines you are asking of me, I will try to be honest and upfront so that we can both be happy with this process and the outcome.

• Although for the most part commissions are done on trust, in order to cover my base costs I ask that once sketches are agreed that a 30% upfront non negotiable fee is paid. This is done through my website to protect us both and paid as £’s.

• Then, I will make the work . At this stage you can still decide if it is for you or not. If you decide not to have the work it can then be added into my collection of work for sale if suitable.

• There will however be exceptions to this rule, where special site visits are required is one, the cost of these will need to be covered by you the buyer but will be kept to a minimum. Also if the work is to be of something very individual or personal to you and I still feel I can make the work for you successfully, in both these cases I would ask that 40% down payment is made upfront as it will be unlikely in this case that it will sit well with my own work. if it is not to your liking once made. The remaining fee will then be made upon completion if the client is happy.
