Over the Hump
Over the Hump
It amazes me really that so much of the work I produce can come from a handful of days. It is certainly the case for this exhibition. I am always thankful for a beautiful weather day when I am able to get out and about with family or friends as they are the best days for inspiration.
This picture comes yet again from the long birthday weekend spent in Assynt in late March. The weather was gorgeous but there was still a lot of snow on the bigger hills. With no kit for such hills we went up a small hill that sits at the end of a promontory opposite Ullapool to the south, Ben Ghoblach. A smaller hill but it certainly didn’t feel it at the time.
It was one of these hills that was so steep that you could rarely see far ahead of you on the steep assent. My youngest daughter calls these hills ‘Spawning Hills’ a perfect description to this hill and the multiple tops it kept producing on the way up it.
This picture was inspired though at the point when you came over the first bump/ hump and from there you could see the hill in its full glory.
