Flow Lines
Flow Lines
The walk up the Dorrery Hill to Oscars Fold, where the old remains of a hillfort are offer some of the best views across Caithness – to the north and Thurso, the south and the Caithness hills and across the flow lands to the hills in the west. This picture depicts the view west, the low winter light on the day we visited as a family clearly picks out the subtle lines of the Flowlands and offers a multitude of beautiful colours, warm, reds, rusts, golds and then contrasting with the cooler dying greens which often have a blue hue to them. From one walk with my family on a particular day came the inspiration for 2 pictures, Watch hill and Flow Lines. To me that’s a good day out then.
